In 2014, veteran driver recruiter and trucking industry expert TJ Graff was introduced to the concept of Predictive Hiring using behavioral science. It wasn’t another gimmick or HR trend—it was a proven method of identifying the qualities, values, and behaviors that predict long-term success in a role.
That insight led to a bigger question:
What if trucking companies could finally stop hiring reactively and start hiring intentionally?
By 2015, the vision was born.
After years of research, testing, and field experience, TJ founded Star Behaviors
in 2019 with one mission in mind:
To help companies—starting with trucking fleets—hire people who stay, perform, and succeed.
In 2022, Star Behaviors launched its first Behavioral Assessment for Truck Drivers, built specifically for the demands, pressures, and realities of the transportation industry. This wasn’t a generic personality quiz—it was a job-specific tool designed to give recruiters real insight into who was a true behavioral match.
By 2023–2024, the results validated everything the vision promised:
In 2025, the company introduced StarLogic, a fully integrated assessment platform, along with StarCareer, an initiative that supports driver schools and workforce programs in preparing quality, career-minded candidates from day one.
